 Trivia and Player Notes
After being named the AAA all-star shortstop after hitting .312 at Oklahoma City in 1983, Curtis Wilkerson began his career in the major leagues with the Texas Rangers. He started his first 2 seasons with Texas and after that, was relegated to a role as a utility player.

Wilkerson somehow spent 11 seasons in the big leagues despite his inability to generate offense. He was a singles hitter with decent speed and no ability to draw a walk. His OBP rarely lifted over .300 and he finished his career with an OPS of 591. Its a miracle that Wilkerson managed to remain in the big leagues that long but if there was one thing that he didn't embarass himself at it was that he could hit singles.

Wilkerson made 2 playoff appearances during his career, appearing only as a pinch hitter both times and he never made it to the World Series.

Notes: Wilkerson hit well against Jim Clancy (10/24 .417) and had no success against hall-of-famer Don Sutton.
