Made a guest voice appearance in an episode of "The Simpsons" called Homer at the Bat where Homer's boss Mr. Burns assembles a team of ringers to compete in a corporate baseball league to insure a championship. The 9 Major Leaguers are given jobs at Mr. Burns' Nuclear Plant, enabling them to qualify for the team. Each of the players endures a serious injury before the final game forcing the team's real employees to take over and setting the stage for Homer to be a hero where he is hit by a pitch to force in the winning run. Scioscia was the only player to take his job seriously at the powerplant and he acquired acute radiation poisoning as a result. Member of the World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers in 1981 and 1988. He also managed the Anaheim Angels to a 2002 World Series Championship. Notes: Played in 2 All-Star games during his career (1989-1990) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
