James had the disadvantage of coming from a Canadian city not known for producing baseball talent. He played in Sudbury and at one point was known more for his long ball gap and home run power as a hitter along with his slick fielding and stolen bases rather than his pitching prowess. He accepted a spot on a junior college baseball team for the 2001-02 season and as the team struggled and so did James. The coach put him on the mound to see what he could do and In his first 9 starts he had an era in the double digits and was 0-7. Nevertheless that summer James impressed a Blue Jays scout and was signed to a free agent contract. After 2 short seasons at Rookie level Pulaski and some mediocre talent shown on the diamond Pidutti was released before spring training in 2005. The thick lefthander displayed some good and some bad moments in his tenure and never really could overcome his control problems and find his slider. After 44.1 minor league innings he was cut and took a spot on the Rimini Pirates of the Series A/1 Division in Italy. That never really went as planned as the staff forced him to pitch side arm which plagued his control and command. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
