[2005] - College World Series All-Tournament Team 3B, College World Series MVP |
Won the 4A Texas State Championship with Western Hills High School in 2001. Played JUCO ball at Grayson County Jr. College and played in the 2003 JUCO World Series at 3rd base. Hit .375 with 2 HRs and 5 RBIs. Played third base in the 2004 & 2005 College World Series for the University of Texas. After getting the last out of the 2004 CWS and losing to Cal State Fullerton, Maroul came back in 2005 and was awarded the Most Outstanding Player trophy. David went a combined 8-for-16 (.500) with three runs scored, two home runs and a team-best eight RBI over UT’s five CWS contests, he becomes the sixth Longhorn player to earn CWS Most Outstanding Player honors, joining Huston Street (2002), Calvin Schiraldi (1983), Mickey Reichenbach (1975), J.L. Smith (1953), and Tom Hamilton (1949). Participated in 2004 College World Series Final-8 with Texas (Finalists). Participated in 2005 College World Series Final-8 with Texas (Champions). | |||
