Trivia and Player Notes

A tall athletic righthander, Hennessey has survived many obstacles in his young career. He has fought back from two cancer scare operations to post a 3-5 year in 2005 with the Giants. Brad possesses perhaps the best slider in the organization and just needs experience as he progresses in his career.

Brad was born and lives in the Toledo, Ohio area. He played at Youngstown State University where he pitched and played the infield. He signed with the Giants in July 2001 after being drafted #19 in the first round. After his first year at Salem he took a year off after undergoing an operation for a benign tumor near his spine. After missing almost the whole of 2003 another tumor was found and another operation was performed, this time successfully.

Hennessey is a sinker, slider control pitcher with an unflappable demeaner. He is married and has a daughter Emma.
