Trivia and Player Notes

Member of the World Series Champion Atlanta Braves in 1995.

Grissom officially announced his retirement on March 28,2006 at the age of 38. Grissom signed a minor league contract with the Cubs during the offseason. He was hitting .200 during the spring and felt as if the time had come. Grissom's decision opened up a spot for rookie outfielder Angel Pagan.

Notes: Played in 2 All-Star games during his career (1993-1994)...Marquis caught the final out of Dennis Martinez's perfect game in 1991....One of only 7 major leaguers to post 2,000 hits, 200 home runs and 400 steals over his career.
