About Draft Scores:

The TBC Draft score is a simplistic approach to ranking a draft class by team for a given year. The formula is the total number of cumulative mlb seasons played to date by the players drafted by a given team. A point is given for each season whether the player played in 1 game or 162 games. A team with a score of 0 did not draft a major leaguer.

A player is only considered as part of the rankings if he was signed to a contract and this fact is only assumed based on whether the given player had any future draft instance.

It is important to note that the value of this formula is better served at least 5-6 years into history as any current values will not consider the fact that the players are still working their way up through a team's minor league system. You will find more value in the 1975 results as opposed to 2005.

But watch the scores each year and see how the rankings change for the more recent drafts as each team's player race through the minor leagues.
