Page Notes
Player Page Sponsorships are used to support the web site. A sponsorship is essentially putting your name or your entity, linked or unlinked, on your favorite player page with an optional message. Your name will be displayed prominently in the middle of the page, and all pages dedicated to the player, above the scroll.

The $ does not go to the sponsored player. It goes to TBC. It is combination donation/advertising. in short, here is how to do it...more detail below.

Get TBC PREMIUM and remove ads, cleaner display, access to research applications, data store discounts and more!
The TBC Newsletter will keep you periodically up-to-date on what is happening at The Baseball Cube.
HOW do I Sponsor a Page?
First, you must find a player to sponsor. Navigate the site until you find an unsponsored page. Sponsorships appear below the Baseball Card and player biography, before the stats. An unsponsored page will have the title "Sponsor the [PlayerName] Page". Sponsored pages are in gold. Unsponsored pages are in light blue.

Click the "Sponsor the ..." link and submit the form with your information.

Then, send us payment via PayPal. Information for payment will appear once you have submitted the form. Its really quite easy and it really helps us.

HOW MUCH does it cost?
Its $10 per player page per year payable via Paypal. American dollars.

WHAT does it look like?
When submitting a sponsorship, you have 3 data elements you can include.
  • Sponsorship Name - Your Name, site, cause, family, entity. Whatever. Its the name that will appear in bold on the sponsorship.
  • Link - A link under your sponsor name (Optional). Could be a Web site, an email or empty.
  • Text - 255 characters of family-friendly text to display with your sponsorship to explain your purpose for sponsoring or words about your site if you're trying to promote something.

    WHERE will I see it?
The sponsorship will appear below the Player Profile section and above the statistics section of a player's page. Eyes will be forced to pass over the sponsorship and it will be visible above the scroll. Meaning that the visitor will not have to scroll down to see the sponsorship. Major Leaguers have multiple pages including splits pages, game logs, feats, defensive position view, at bat logs and even a few more. The sponsorship will appear on all these pages.

HOW LONG until I see it?
I gotta match the payment to the sponsorship and flip a switch. But you'll normally see your sponsorships within a couple of hours.

WHY would I sponsor a page?
The content on this site is free with minimal advertising. This is a way for me to try to raise funds to support the site. The Page Sponsorship concept allows you to get a little something back for your sponsorship.

    WHO Should sponsor a page?
Anyone is allowed to sponsor and I welcome support from everyone/anyone .... But particularly those who visit TBC frequently ... you guys should sponsor at least one page.

    WHEN does the sponsorship expire?
The sponsorship is good for 1 full year. It will expire a year from the date of payment. You will be notified of the page expiry via email.

    HOW do I RENEW?
When you get the expiry email, let me know if you want to renew or send us $10 via Paypal with notes on the page you want to sponsor. Eventually I'll make a more sophisticated system but for now, let me focus on the data.
