The TBC Newsletter

The TBC Newsletter is a periodical old-school email sent out to subscribers that covers a few different topics related to the site. Though we live in a fast-paced information-age with Twitter and Facebook and other Social Media tools, I have come to realize that these are not the places for The Baseball Cube. Though Twitter had an original value for News and information, it quickly became a cesspool of negativity and activism, even by baseball reporters and people in the game. There was no purpose for TBC on Twitter. Sending out updates for site features are easily missed as grains of sand in the beach of tweets. Posting my opinion on Twitter made me feel as if I was yelling to an empty room and even the concept of indulging the urge to share my thoughts with random people for the purpose of trying to pick up a few extra followers, well, it felt narcissistic and dirty.

I don't know the future of Social Media but TBC is going old-school with the Newsletter. I can't promise how often you will receive one but if there is a site update, or its been too long, you will probably get an email.

Here is what it will include:
  • Site Updates. Enhancements, changes, tweaks.
  • Ongoing/Upcoming projects. Brief summary of new data or features coming to the site.
  • Tips for Using the site. Some ideas on how to get more out of the site including pages and features you may not have known existed.
  • The Rant. This is where I just let it loose. Baseball and non-baseball topics. Skip if you want. Usually humourous. Not necessarily light topics. Newsletter therapy that you might be able to relate to. Topics like Anxiety, Purpose, Wellness, Travel Softball, social media. Not political but possibly idealogical.
