Minor League Baseball

Minor League data has been collected since 1978 while Independent league data has been collected since 1999.

The Minor Leagues are organized as a class system with AAA being the highest and Rookie being the lowest. Players progress through the different levels over their minor league career before either leaving baseball or making it to the Major Leagues. The Independent Leagues are not affiliated with Major League Baseball franchises and therefore are not part of the normal progression towards the majors. See the listing of Minor Leaguers.
