Page Sponsorships

Located on most TBC content pages, Page Sponsorships are both an advertising option and a financial support mechanism to show your appreciation to the content on this site. Here is everything you need to know about TBC's Page Sponsorships:

How do I sponsor a page?

1.   Identify page(s) you want to sponsor
2.   Click on the "Sponsor" link on each page. Its in the yellow box at the top of the page.
3.   Fill out form
4.   Submit Payment

What do I get?

For each page sponsorship, you can include the following:

A Sponsorship Name

A message of max. 150 characters

A link/url

A graphical banner (728x90 max size) is optional

A year's subscription to the page sponsorship of all selected pages

Priority on renewal for the next year

Where will they show?   At the top of each page in a shiny yellow box. It is the first thing a visitor will see when they load the page.

Which pages are available?   All pages with a yellow box above the page title.

How much does each page cost?   Each page has its price listed in the yellow box. The lowest price is $7. The highest-priced page is not much more than $150.

How do you come up with the price?   Player pages are prices based on the accomplishments of the player and not the page's traffic and is based on an in-house formula that takes into account many factors. Other pages on the site have static prices based on traffic.

Are there discounts for >1 page sponsored?   10% off for more than 1, less than 10. Larger discounts for more than 10 pages sponsored..

Is it a good place to advertise?   Sponsoring many pages related to the subject of your web site is a great idea to generate traffic and awareness to your site. For example, if you have a site on Baltimore Orioles prospects, sponsor all the available pages for up-and-coming Orioles minor leaguers. Not only will your site be targeted towards Orioles fans interested in the minor leagues, but you'll qualify for terrific discounts for sponsoring multiple pages.

I don't have a web site...   The original purpose of the sponsorships was to allow fans to show appreciation for the TBC free service. Sponsor a page each year, put your name on the site and show the baseball world that you appreciate the thousands of hours of work that we put into this site.

But don't you have a team of monkeys working with you?   The Baseball Cube is run by two people but the content and design is handled by just one. Sponsorships show appreciation to these people.

Do I have to sponsor a page?   Of course not. The site will remain free but if you are a frequent visitor to the site, please consider sponsorsing at least 1 page a year and consider it payment for the data. Sponsorships start at $7/year.

How do I pay?   Currently, Paypal is the method of payment accepted. You can also pay by check though after a few bounces, we try to avoid them.

Will I receive Traffic?   It depends on the popularity of the page(s) you have sponsored and the appear of your ad to be clicked. The more relevant to the page contact and the more attractive the ad, the greater likelihood of click-through. Your sponsorship will definitely be viewed by everyone who visits the page and even if they don't click-through, the name of your site will have been exposed to the visitor. And since the cost of sponsoring a page is so low, if you convert even one visitor over the year, you've likley already made your investment back. Is this a scam?   No. We have many sponsors who have been with us for many years and we have never had any issues with page sponsors.

How long until I see my sponsorship?   Usually within 36 hours or payment being received. Either way, your year does not start until it has been posted.

What are the rules? 

All sponsorships will need to be approved by TBC and we reserve the right to refuse a sponsorship.

Text messages must not be offensive or overly negative. In each case, if payment has been received, we will ask for a re-write of the message.

Spelling and grammar may be corrected.

Sponsoring a page that disappears will result in a credit towards another page of your choice of equal or lesser cost.

Prices will change from year to year

You will receive first crack at renewing your sponsorship each year

First-come, first-serve. Sponsorships are only reserved upon payment. There is rarely a conflict.
