The TBC Search functionality might be more powerful than you think. For many years, it was used only to find player profile pages but since late 2007, the search features find a whole lot more. Here's a guide to what you can look for and how you can find it by using the search:

Players:

Any portion of a player's name, given name or nickname. Results are sorted by Major League Players, Minor Leaguers and all others, organized by ,a href='highlevel.shtml'>highest level reached.

Mickey Mant
Yaz
B Wilkerson
A-Rod
Ryan James Howard

Teams:

Teams and statistics can be found by team name or by season/team.

Boston Red Sox
1994 Montreal Expos
2003 Yankees

Batter vs Pitcher Matchups:

Using the following syntax, you can easily find any batter/pitcher matchup quickly. Simply enter all or part of a batters name and pitchers name in the search bar, separated by vs. If more than one option exists, the program will show you the options.

Scott Rolen vs Javier Vazquez
Alex Rodriguez vs Curt Schilling
Mickey Mantle vs Bob Feller
